DRIS

The Detroit Radio Information Service (DRIS), Southeastern Michigan’s only radio reading service.  It was founded in 1978, to fill an information void among blind and otherwise print-impaired people.  DRIS is an arm of WDET-FM’s 101.9, which provides readings from periodicals, such as the Detroit Free Press and the Detroit News.  The readings take place between 7-9 a.m. from the Detroit Free Press and readings between 5-7 p.m. from the Detroit News on Channel 15.

 

MGTV

MGTV is a non-profit corporation modeled on C-SPAN.  It provides unedited coverage of all branches of Michigan's state government, including live and tape-delayed House and Senate sessions and committees, live Michigan Supreme Court oral arguments, and events from the Executive Branch.  MGTV also offers live phone-in shows with state government leaders.
